Where to put the Java Look and Feel Graphical Repository
Why are things never as simple as you expect them to be? I knew that the jar archive of images to use on buttons didn’t have to be ‘installed’, yet trying to find out where to put it and where to reference the “CLASSPATH” proved to be harder than it first was described. So in order for people to find out just where to put the God-damn file (in Windows) I will make this blog and hope that it gets found on Google or something.
First, download the file from here. And then place it in C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\lib\ext\ folder. Then click Start > (Right click on:) My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables, and then under System Variables create a new variable (if there isn’t one named ‘CLASSPATH’ already) and name the variable ‘CLASSPATH’. Set the location to C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\lib\ext\jlfgr-1_0.jar . And that then should work. It worked for me anyway.
3 Hours wasted yesterday trying to find out this and they just expect you to know what you’re talking about!
