I never thought the exercise I started at the beginning of the year would carry on for as long as it has. I have successfully been running every week since Christmas in order to shed a few of the extra pounds I’d put on since being at Uni, and it’s been working. Probably because I bought new trainers for £25 and I wanted to get the most out of them. Even so, this past week I’ve been doing more than just running. Last Saturday I went paintballing all day with Steve and Rich. It was just as much fun as the first time I went. The games were probably better. There seemed to be more effort put into the games, with actual castle-like structures for one game, and even a graveyard for a capture-the-flag game. Very expensive, but totally worth it. My legs ached for days afterwards too – I think it was all the crouching😦
On Tuesday, Steve, Rich, Ben and myself went to Llangennith to fly one of those massive kites that you need two hands for and can actually lift you from the ground. It was very exhillirating and I can’t wait to go again. If you live near wind (*chuckle*) and know someone with a kite, you should definitely have a go. It takes a while to get used to but definitely worth it. Check out my February photo album for some nifty pics 😀 (there’s also some pics in there from Shrove Tuesday and from a bike ride I went on with Steve and Adam).
Last night a few of us went to see Juno and it was really good. For such a topic, first thoughts think that you can’t possibly make that situation comedic or light hearted, but the film was thoroughly enjoyable. The dialogue was the best bit about it, but it wouldn’t have been anything without the delivery of those lines. Ellen Page (she’s so cute😉 ) and Michael Cera are very talented for their ages. I can see both of them going far, especially considering the kinda off-the-mark cult style films both of them have been in so far. The soundtrack was also pretty fun🙂
So I usually start feeling pretty lonely around Christmas time, rather than Valentine’s Day. Rather than talk about how Valentine’s Day is just there to make single people feel awful, which can be true, I am feeling quite lonely this year more than others. I think it’s probably due to the fact I think I’m really going to be on my own when I leave Uni this summer. I will very literally be on my own. On my own with no idea what I want to do, other than travel around the world a bit. It’s hard because I haven’t felt emotionally close to anyone for a long time, and I am scared I’m gonna turn into a bitter old man before I’m old (although I am starting to lose my hair…)
Also I had 65.2% average for my first term of my third year. I am very pleased with this because it means my second term average only has to be something like 50% average for me to get a 2:1 degree. I think I am well on course for getting it too🙂
